Charlotte Jail Release Record Fields

A dated regional transit study noted limited Charlotte service, while Farmville Area Bus serves Farmville and parts of Prince Edward County rather than a documented Charlotte jail stop. Arrange transportation only after confirming both the actual release and the pickup location. A projected court time is not the completed jail departure time.
Charlotte Jail Is Not Piedmont
Piedmont Regional Jail is nearby, but its official member counties are Amelia, Buckingham, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward. Charlotte is not on that member list. Generic search results can blur the two institutions, so start with the agency shown on the booking or court record.
A Charlotte prisoner can still be moved to another jail when a valid order or operational need calls for it. That possibility does not make Piedmont Regional Jail the default Charlotte facility. ICE Holds After Charlotte Release
An ICE detainer can turn an expected community release into a transfer to DHS custody. ICE describes the detainer as a request for a local agency to maintain custody for up to 48 hours beyond the ordinary release point so immigration officers can assume custody. The Charlotte County Jail record should state the destination or receiving authority if recorded.
